The Money Mindset Shift:
Aligning Wealth with Values

Hypnotist Jessica Taylor

Wealth. It’s a word that strikes fear into some, envy into others, and creates desire and repulsion in equal measure. There are so many ways that people get caught up in negative money mindsets. But how do we start overcoming money blocks?

What would happen if you truly believed that wealth wasn’t just about making money, but about aligning it with your values? That is exactly what we explore in the episode of Modelling Success in Action – The Money Mindset Shift: Aligning Wealth with Values

I sat down with veteran financial planner Kevin Parton and got curious about his experience with the powerful connection between wealth, values and money mindset; and how it has created wealth and freedom in his life. Kevin shares how his personal journey reshaped his financial approach—and how you can do the same.

Below I dive into the key insights, but you’ll want to tune into the full episode for even more actionable ways to create success and wealth in your life.

Are Hidden Money Beliefs Holding You Back?

Everyone uses money, it’s a fact of life, but not everyone has the same views on money, wealth and values. The psychology of money, and the way you feel about money can make or break your success.  If you grew up in a household that struggled with financial issues you may adopt these same viewpoints in your adult life, and these limiting beliefs or judgements around money and wealth can really sabotage your financial well-being and success.

The great news is that you’re not alone, and this condition doesn’t have to be terminal. Even Kevin’s relationship with money started out on rocky footing.

“I grew up in a household where money wasn’t really a known subject—just this thing that was always out of reach. And for a long time, I didn’t even realize how much that shaped my beliefs about wealth.”

Recognizing these limiting beliefs and looking for ways to reshape them is the first step to building a successful money mindset. For Kevin this meant looking at models in the world around him who were handling money differently than his family. He started to get curious about how they looked at finances, and the way they lived their lives.

The Key Mistake High Earners Make

Now that the money is rolling in, is it actually doing what you want it to? This was the question that Kevin came up against once he had started to shift his interactions with money. He was earning more than ever before but feeling less fulfilled. What’s the point of wealth if it makes you feel poor?

Then he had a lightbulb moment:

“You can chase money all day long, but if you’re not aligned with your values, you’ll always feel like something’s missing.”

That realization changed everything. He stopped focusing on more and started focusing on meaning. And ironically? That’s when things really started to take off.

How Modelling the Right People Makes the Difference

Here’s the truth no one tells you: Success can be replicated

Kevin started paying attention to the people who had not just wealth, but the kind of life he wanted. People who were able to build wealth while enjoying their family, friends, free time and taking care of their health. He studied their habits, their mindset, their financial success strategies, their daily routines—and then, he simply copied them.

Kevin was willing to model what worked by trying on their behaviors, their decision-making processes, and the way they structured their lives. And the results?

A complete transformation in his business, finances, and relationships.

“I stopped trying to reinvent the wheel and just started doing what actually works.”

What a relief it is to discover that you don’t need to struggle your way to success. Find someone who’s already there, study their playbook, and implement it.
